Darragh Ennis is a professional quizzer and television personality, best known as The Menace on ITV’s hit shows The Chase and Beat The Chasers.

A regular fixture on British television, Darragh also hosts live quiz events across the UK and Ireland. He has appeared in a wide range of broadcast and media projects, including Britain Get Singing, a televised charity competition in support of mental health initiatives which aired on ITV1 in December 2022. In Ireland, Darragh has featured in several high-profile publications, including The Irish Examiner and The Irish Independent.

Away from the screen, Darragh’s passions extend far beyond quizzing. A former post-doctoral neuroscientist at the University of Oxford, his research focused on the brains of insects. He is also a keen Gaelic footballer and a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC.

Married with two children, Darragh is passionate about making science accessible and engaging for everyone. He hosts the popular podcast A Normal Meets a Nerd, where he (the nerd) discusses scientific topics with his co-host Dylan Evans (the normal) in clear, entertaining conversations. The series quickly attracted hundreds of thousands of streams and views and spawned hundreds of listener questions to be answered in future shows.

In late 2024, Darragh published his first book, The Body: 10 Things You Should Know (Orion Books), a series of ten concise and enlightening essays exploring how the human body works.

In 2025, Darragh returned to ITV1 for new seasons of The Chase and Beat The Chasers, and embarked on his first national quiz tour with Our Rita’s Live.

In 2026, Darragh announced his Ultimate Pub Quiz tour, taking his live quiz show across Ireland. It was also confirmed that he will appear in a brand-new spin-off series, Chase Around The World, airing on ITV1 and ITVX in late 2026. He is currently developing a second book on the topic of memory with a major publisher and has further quiz tours and new media projects in the pipeline.
